The Green Solution
With the support of a grant from Sustainability Victoria. Yarra City Council installed a WasteMaster 400 system on site in February 2020 to remove food waste from general waste, decrease truck movements within the council precinct and reduce general waste bins from kerbs sides.

Reduction in general waste management costs and reduced truck movements around the council precinct
Cleaner areas. especially around the dumpsters in the bin rooms
Environmental and Operational Benefits
Organic waste is converted on site. diverting this waste from landfill. preventing associated greenhouse gas emissions. and reducing CO2 emissions from transport
No additives, microbes or water are required for the conversion process
Residue from the conversion retains the organic waste's calorific value making it ideal to produce green energy and other resources
Local, responsive support provided by an Australian company, including remote management and monthly reporting.
“The WasteMaster has proved to be a great innovation for a multi-unit development site such as The Precinct Apartments. Loading food waste into the system is extremely easy and it is rewarding to know that we are no longer contributing to the negative impacts caused by organic waste in landfill. We are also delighted that the valuable residue by-product from the WasteMaster conversion process is being used to generate green electricity."
