Background
Committed to the responsible stewardship of resources and their environmental performance, Epworth HealthCare, Victoria's largest not-for-profit private hospital group, outlined a framework in its Environment Policy to manage direct and indirect environmental imprints.
Of particular concern was the impact of food waste that Epworth Richmond produced and sent to landfill, generating greenhouse gases.
The Green Solution
In five months, the WasteMaster system has diverted 100% of Epworth Richmond's food waste from landfill, saving 12.17 tonnes of CO2 -eq greenhouse gases.
