Green Eco Technologies - 2023 In Review

With 2023 drawing to a close, the Green Eco Technologies team is proud to look back on an incredibly busy and successful year. As we review the successes and highlights from over the past twelve months, we look forward to 2024 and continuing the expansion of our global presence. Utilising our award-winning WasteMaster system and working with our partners and clients, we reaffirm our commitment to reduce, recycle and repurpose organic waste into reusable resources for the benefit of our environment.

Our year began with an editorial feature in the International Federation of Healthcare Engineering (IFHE) Digest, an international publication for healthcare engineering and facilities management. Authored by our UK and Europe Commercial Director Katie Young, the article looks at the devastating global impact of food waste on our environment and the positive impact our WasteMaster system can have for healthcare sites.

Award success soon followed as NHS James Paget Hospital received two awards including a coveted Gold Award for their food waste disposal, supported by Green Eco Technologies. This shining example demonstrates how the trust has worked diligently in moving towards Net Zero, with WasteMaster playing a key role in this progress.

Green Eco Technologies celebrated further awards success in 2023, with our CEO Rick Woods recognised by CEO Monthly as ‘Most Influential CEO 2023’ for Australia in the Waste Disposal sector. In recognition of this tremendous honour, a special feature was published to acknowledge this achievement and the success of Rick’s work.

Here in Australia, there has been significant rollout of WasteMaster as Veolia and the Department of Defence expanded their collaboration with Green Eco Technologies. This has ensured regional defence sites across Victoria are equipped with a top-of-the-line system to divert food waste from landfill, boost sustainability and deliver benefits not just for the environment, but also for the broader Australian economy.

In April our MEA Regional Director William Ward took part in the Iftar Debate on ‘How To Face Food Waste and Food Security in the UAE’ alongside a panel of industry experts in the region. Gulf Today covered the story in detail, sharing some of the experiences of our team of WasteMaster champions in UAE relating to food waste management.

The Nexus 2023 Pitch Competition Final hosted by the City of Melbourne and ACASE provided an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the benefits of WasteMaster. Following a closely contested competition, six teams emerged as prize winners with Green Eco Technologies being awarded first place and acknowledged as a key player in smart solutions for net-zero carbon cities.

Awards recognition has continued apace in both the UK and Australia. We were delighted to receive nods from prestigious organisations including the Australia Technologies Competition, the UK National Recycling Awards and becoming a finalist for the Banksia NSW Sustainability Awards for WasteMaster and our work surrounding food waste and climate technology.

One of the most significant stories from 2023 was the announcement of WM200, the latest and most compact WasteMaster model produced to date. The system is ideal for but not limited to Hospitality, Healthcare, Education, and Aged Care Homes looking to manage and repurpose their food waste. This new model opens even more doors for our company, and we look forward to the opportunities for the potential new partnerships the WM200 can present.

These are just some of the stories from the past year and we will continue to showcase and feature significant events and successes here on our website news section and across our social media platforms, including our LinkedIn company page. Behind the industry recognition, installation success and launch of our brand new WasteMaster model, we want to take a moment to recognise and thank all of the individuals and organisations we work with in our shared goals to improve food waste management, boost sustainability and tackle the climate crisis.

With the 28th United Nations Climate Change conference COP28 in UAE bringing conversations on global food systems to the forefront of collective climate action, we are hopeful that 2024 will bring further change for the better. Green Eco Technologies looks forward to continuing our work with our existing partners and forming new collaborations in the year ahead as the movement to prevent, reduce and repurpose food waste goes from strength to strength.

Headquartered in Melbourne, Australia with international offices in the UK, the UAE and Singapore, Green Eco Technologies is focused on reducing the overall impact of food waste disposal for businesses, institutions and organisations, and the environment.
